I truly believe that all women (& men!) must always take care of their hair. In my case, I think it’s my biggest asset. I come from a family that has healthy, thick and nice hair! Even at their age, my dad still retains all of his hair and my mom’s braid is super healthy and shiny!
Since my signature hair look was short stylish cuts ever since childhood, I am now trying to keep a long-hair style, and I’m loving it! I always get questions on how I maintain healthy hair, even at this length.
My secret is not only genetics though. I never dyed my hair (yet!), not even highlights. I apply sun protection spray all over it whenever I’m tanning (which is a lot during summertime). I often go for the hairdresser to trim the ends. But most importantly, I apply various masks at least thrice a week, such as here and here.
Now even though I always recommend my ‘At Home Remedies’ -and you know how amazing they are- I do tend to reside to my favorite synthetic product, whenever my hair is extra-dry due to the sun or the cold, and that is none other than Kérastase. My hair-dresser recommended the most recent new Kérastase product, called Initialiste.
Derived from the same stem-cell technology that’s used for skin-care, according to Kérastase, this serum should make your hair feel thicker, softer, and up to %93 more resistant, since breakage is unavoidable if you have long hair.
So here’s how to use it:
- After washing your hair and gently drying it with a towel, apply Initialiste in the form of drops directly on your scalp
- Massage your scalp with your fingertips to spread the product, increase blood circulation, and enhance its absorption
- Apply no more than four to five pipettes if you have thick hair
- Style as usual
It was so easy, my hair felt amazingly soft and radiated with a healthy shine afterwards! So yes, that was one of my most recent hair beauty secrets!
Tell me what are your hair secrets? I’d love to know!
I love Kerastase!! Always i buy these products, are brilliant.
Looks interesting. I don’t ever try products like this. My hair is super thick and, until about a year ago, was very long. I’ve heard that keratin (or however your spell it) treatments make your hair super smooth and fluffy. Is this product that kind of treatment? Is it healthy for your hair?
This serum is perfect to smoothen out your hair, treat dryness and damaged hair, & increase its shine. I absolutely recommend all Kerastase products, those people are professional at what they do.
Keratin, on the other hand, is a treatment to straighten hair, and in some cases (depending on the amount used on the hair & its drying technique), just smoothes it.
My hair is super thick as well, & I’ve had it short all my life, until two years ago. I used Keratin before (it’s a treatment that you have to do at a professional salon, don’t buy the home-products, they don’t work). It made my hair smoother, and more shiny, but since my hair is super thick, it didn’t completely straighten it. The result was still amazing though. Nice natural waves that you get straight out of the shower, without any frizz! Something like retro kind of waves! No styling needed! 🙂
Hope this was helpful dear! Let me know your opinion once you try them!
